Morning, Sunset Heights

Dogs bark
down the canyon.
A crow croaks
its complimentary
wake-u-up
croak-o-gram;
a hummingbird sips
from the hibiscus.
Bougainvillea
glows. The sun
hides behind thin mist
‘Have a nice day’
ready on his lips.
